HIIIIIII BEST FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So as you know i did get a new companion! Lets just say we have totally different personalitys. But i know i can learn a lot from him. I get the feeling im only gonna be here for 5 more weeks we will see though! At the beginning of this week he had to go to Sacramento for a doctors appointment. So yes i did get to leave the mission and go to downtown Sac. It was pretty sweet! I got to see the capital and they had a huge party thing going on there outside for christmas. We didnt get invited.. Jerks!! :( hahaha but it was way cool going to Sacramento, loved it. Davis is awesome! i love it here. I have become close to some people i feel. Me and my new companion Elder Wykle are trying to contact and find new people. Its hard but we are pushing! :) BTW my new companion is from Texas. Anyway..... so we are working on finding some people. Nothing big is going on here with investigators. We are just working hard on finding right now. So on Sunday i was leading Elder Wykle to church on bike and for some reason he looked down and when he looked up i was gone! hahahah so he went one way while i went anohter and we got lost for about 15 mins. I didnt know he was gone for the longest time. I looked back and saw so many ways he could have gone and i kept praying in my head wondering what to do. So many ideas came to mind but when i would go for it i had a bad feeling. I finally picked a road that i felt good about and i kept going just hoping it was the spirit and i kept biking just waiting to find him and finally i saw him up ahead just standing next to his bike hahahah i was laughing pretty hard. So that just explains my companion. :) This transfer is a temple transfer so we get to go to the temple! I'm not sure which week its gonna be but we will find out soon :). My new zone is ok.. I miss our old zone so much!! Yeah mom i heard you are talking to sister H. She is awesome! I miss her a lot. She was like a mom hahaha it was awesome. I can't think of much more to say.. :( this week was just an interesting week trying to get wykle all settled in and me trying to figure out how to lead the area. Haha its weird leading the area. Idk what im doing... im still green as can be! :) Madi is going to Seattle!!!!!!!!!??? Whoaaaa!!! DAD ITS YOUR MISSION BRO!!!! :) I'm sure ill be getting a letter from her soon. Well i hope so atleast haha. Thats way exciting though! When does she leave? With the people writing me... Madalie is by far the most consistant hahaha i can always count on getting a letter back from her asap! Marlies writes me every once in awhile im sure she is super busy. Im writing somebodys sister from my mtc district hahaha and a couple more people from school that you wouldnt know i dont think. Its sweet hearing from the people of the real world :). Whats up family!!!!!!!!! Elder Howell here!!!!!! Sorry you did not hear from me yesterday... On transfer week or whatever you will hear from me on tuesday not monday... Mom i know that you got a hold of sister hernandez. She is awesome btw.. BIG NEWS!! Well not really big news but its news everybody saw it coming. I am staying here in Davis and my trainer elder blake just left me. he is going to vaccaville! I have a companion coming in whose name is elder wykle. I have heard he is an awesome guy. I'm sure we will have a great time together. its gonna be weird because i now have to lead the area and get him in the groove of the ward and stuff. Wish me luck ;). No it will be fun and good for me. The work here is still pretty slow. We talk to that black guy here at the library all the time and he came to church last sunday! That was awesome to see him there and he said that he loved it and that he will be coming back. We will see what happens with him. Everything is still pretty slow.. we are still teaching and seeing people but no serious committments or anything. This time of the year is really hard i hear, but all i can do is keep pushing! :) Mom for the christmas stuff yeah just do as President Alba says.. he knows best haha. i'm curious to see how Christmas turns out this year. We had the christmas devotional at the stake center on sunday and during that they have what they call a creche festival. Where hundreds of nativity sets are set up in the gym from all sorts of religions and people. Its soo cool! I have a picture that i'll send you! What are your guys plans for Christmas?? OHHHHHHH which reminds me. Soooooo... We are given the option of skype or phone. We can either skype for 30 mins or call for 45 mins. I'm leaving that decision up to you guys! So let me know what you would like :) It has been raining here for the past like 4 or 5 days. Its crazy! Riding my bike in it is pretty intense haha sometimes it will come down super hard.. and other times its just sprinkles. You never know when its gonna change it just happens so fast. Luckily right now its not raining so im actually dry for once. The weather is so weird here this time of year. Or probably always. I'm used to snow and all that good stuff haha. Momma if you could send me those addresses i asked for last week. I kinda need those :). So funny story.. we have been talking about getting a christmas tree for the apartment and i came home yesterday for the night and elder lenen and elder johnsen bought one! haha i am gonna have my first real christmas tree! they stuffed it in the back of the car with part of it hanging out the windows while driving on the freeway. The car is a mess right now. Good thing i dont have to clean it out ;). Mom say hi to Judy, Chet, and Bishop Greer for me. I miss them!!! :( I heard BYU is getting Jabari Parker... if that is true that is sooooooo sick! We gonna take national championship! haha I also heard the BYU plays San Diego St. Go Cougars!!! Gosh....... I wish I had more to tell you guys.. but im just doing missionary work there is nothing new with me. The only thing really is that i'm gonna miss my zone and my district! :( a lot of the people that i became close to are leaving. Everybody but 2 companionships are getting new companions. Whats up family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Last week until transfers!!! Odds are my trainer is gone.. but we will see! Everybody thinks im staying but we will find out for sure at the end of the week. My Thanksgiving was pretty good. I missed home a lot though.. We went to a turkey bowl with the YSA ward and that was a lot of fun actually. After that the zone went and played some soccer. I miss playing legit soccer so much! It was a lot of fun getting out playing again. Then we went to a dinner at our ward mission leaders house with all his family and everything. Then we went to a recent converts home and we ate there for a little while and just hung out. So yeah my thanksgiving was pretty good i did miss home a lot though. The work here is sooooo slow during the holidays ive heard. So nothing too special happened this week. Earlier this week we had a family home evening with a member and she has like 4 little kids and they took over 200 pictures on my camera haha they loved it. And their daughter made me build her a spaceship out of leggos and if i stopped she would threatin to rip my planner haha they are such a fun family. We didnt get to see any of our investigators because they were all out of town. The teaching is so slow right now. Yesterday at church was a lot of fun. We had to go in and answer some questions from the little kids and taught them about why were out on missions. They are so funny. On wednesday we are going to teach the seminary.. we will see how that goes. They arent gonna be as funny as the primary kids just ebcause thats not even possible but it will be a fun and a learning experience! :) Mom thats so sweet you went to black friday! you never would do that! I hope you got me some cool stuff haha jk :). I only have to miss one more how cool is that?? I remember last year when i was in the middle of EVERYBODY just having a good ole time but i almost died becuase people are crazy haha its so much fun! Congrats to Makaila for being engaged!! That is crazy!!!!! I was thinking the other day that if im gonna get the nephew i have been dreaming of Brayton or Justin needs to get married within the next year because a pregnancy is 9 months (if you guys didnt know.) Hellloooooo Family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sooo... to being this off i have to give a big shout out to my brother/best friend from birth trempin neilson! CONGRATS MY MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm really upset though because my package didnt come on saturday.. i bet its back at the apartment right now. I'll watch the video when i get home. It better be there. I can't believe he is going to Chile!!! I heard from some emails haha I'm soooo stoked for him!! Little jealous because all my friends are out of the country learning spanish or some other language... BUT this is where the Lord wants me so im satisfied :). Thank you for sending the package though.. i'm sure ill get it. I'm doing just dandy out here. Been thinking a lot about home lately because of the holidays and what not haha but i hope you all have excellent holidays. Black friday is coming up feel free to buy me tons of awesome stuff to put in my room for when i get home.. just sayin ;). For Thanksgiving this year I get to do a turkey bowl with the young single adults ward here in davis. I'm pretty excited for that. The spanish elders that live with me got permission for the whole mission because they were curious what they could do. After that were going to the ward mission leaders house for thanksgiving. Supposedly he is gonna have tons of family there so that could be awkward kinda haha but it will be fun. But after that were headed back off to work unless we find somewhere else to go. Were allowed to go and hang out with families and stuff to build relationships but we havent really gotten invited anywhere else. We will figure it out :). I'm so happy that you guys get to go to st george this year. I havent been there in foreverrrrr. Hope you guys party it up there. Be safe. Nothing too special happened this week... Like really haha. Were teaching this lady Marilyn who we ran into outside the library last week. She loves to show us pictures of her past.. its kinda hard to stay focused because there are soooooo many. We have to just tell her to stop sometimes so we can teach her haha. The sisters in our district had a baptism on saturday so that was a good experience. I was a witness and ive never done that before. When she went under and i looked at the other guy for confirmation i felt like a football referee for the field goals haha it was pretty funny. We were going through our formers and we thought we should go see this Curt dude. He is awesome!!! He is this black guy that LOVES the Lord!! he is so funny. He has lots of health problems so hes kinda hard to understand sometimes but he has the accent and enthusiasm of the black people haha i love it! We will be going back to teach him this week. He doesnt know if he will join the church but he is really interested in the priesthood. We will see how that goes. Those are our 2 newest investigators though. The work is starting to pick up again. I love the ward im in so much. I have been biking in the rain a lot lately. Its kinda fun actually :). Thats so funny hearing about janaes baby. I have yet to see pictures of him so i hope to get them soon. I miss that little guy!! :( I can't believe the Mitchells are already home from their mission.. thats so nuts. I hope they enjoyed it even though it was difficult. I dont know exactly how theres was but missions are sooo difficult. But I learn something new everyday. But.. thats probably because i dont know that much in general so there are many things to learn from :). Congrats to Miranda and Miles. Shouldnt they be having a baby soon? They should get going on that.. hahaha. I miss my family!!!! I love them soooooo much!!! I have the best friends in the world. I cant believe so many people are getting their calls and/or leaving. Thats soooo sweet. I miss my good ole friends. Crazy to think that some of the friends that left really fast after high school go home in less than a year.. whoaaaaaaaa. Times flies!! Time is going by pretty fast for me. Honestly some days are slower than others but for the most part its going by fast. I get along with elder blake really well. He is a goof. He understands my humor thank goodness. If he didnt i would die...... we think he will be leaving at the end of this transfer. He is kinda trunky but im trying to help him out as he helps me out. Thats how companionships work my dear friends. Christmas is coming up!!!! Mom... I have no idea what i want. I really really dont. Maybe some ties? I would like skinny ties if i do get any. Hola mi familia!!!!!!!!! (I wish I knew spanish) Hi my favorite family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hows everything going in the utah snow?? I miss that stuff so much!! Its freezing here at night and there isnt even any snow. Whats the freezing cold without snow?? I'll never understand Northern California. It just rains here sometimes and that's it. On the bright side I don't have to shovel any walkways or anything.. haha not like i ever did that at home anyway. Right dad? ;) I'm sure you have already caught on by now that I am able to email today! We are at the stake center in the family history library. Unfortunately, I forgot my usb cord for my camera so you wont be getting any pictures today :( thats my bad. I knew i was gonna forget it. I'm retarded. Glad to hear that everybody is staying busy! But lets be honest.. you guys are not as busy as me.. :) kidding! We are all working hard and playing hard. Thats how we live :). I'm always so exhausted at the end of the day! Its nuts.. im sure you guys are exhausted too working to get money. I remember when i worked to get money... not. I'm so happy to hear about all these people about to get their calls or getting their calls. The ladies are going to go out too! That is awesome! Crazy how they will probably be home before me.. hahaha. Thats awesome though. This work is going hard. I'm not looking forward to everybody speaking spanish around me though when i get home ;). Anyway.. My week was pretty sweet! Last week when we left the library after emailing there was a lady outside who pulled me and a spanish elder aside (Elder Lenen) and talked to us for a little bit and me and Elder Blake picked her up as a new investigator a couple days later. That was a miracle. Right place at the right time. We will see how it turns out. Her name is Marilyn. Me and blake were walking our bikes through an intersection at night and these 2 cars crashed into each other. It was the most retarded wreck i have ever seen. People are dumb haha. But no it really was scary we rushed over to see how everything was and they all were perfectly fine. I thought i was gonna have to save a life but it didnt happen. The only thing the passenger of the car that caused it was worried about was finding her glasses. I walk up and say "are you ok" "yeah can you find my glasses" hahaha uhh yeahh.. i guess that was the most important thing to her in the moment. I also saw an asian riding her bike the other day run into a parked car in a intersection.. that was really funny hahaha i tried to hold in my laugh. She was perfectly fine. She was sooo embarrassed though. One night me and blake were riding our bikes and some dude stops us and wanted to talk about the gospel. So of course we pulled over to a table and chatted. Turns out this guy is as high as a kite because he has prescription weed card or whatever. He asked us if we smoked or drank and what not hahaha. but we talked about the gospel and met up with him a couple days later. He was a Jehovah Witness who knew sooooooooo much about the Bible that i didnt even know how to respond to him. He ended up dropping us because he is hardcore Jehovah. Hmmm what else happened this week. Some teenage kids asked me and blake what planet we were from hahaha people always give us so much crap its a lot of fun. We also had interviews with President Alba. Mine went well. I love that guy. He is seriously the most christlike man everrrr! I don't think I have anymore special things to tell you guys... things are just going well here. The work is a little slow right now but im having fun. I miss and love you all soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much!!!!! My testimony has grown so much while ive been out here.. Its super crazy. Anyway.. I think its time for me to get going. Family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) Just another week here in Davis California. Thank you sooooo much for the package. I was sooo excited to see the pictures that were inside i was so freakin happy. Idk what to do with the sheets though.. haha i dont relaly need them but ill figure it out. Well.. Most of my week has to do with the camp I believe. The beginning part wasnt that special. Camp liahona was awesome!!!!! It was such a great experience. I got to meet so many missionaries. I got to talk to Elder Dax Johnson who went to Jordan. That was pretty sweet. We had so many devotionals and little class things. Their goal was just to strenghten our faith and get us more motivated. It definitely worked. On our way there my ride took the coast line there. It was soooooo cool! I got to see the ocean when the fog was all around. It was so cool looking. I have a couple pictures Ill send. Also on our way there i saw a 2 point buck. Wow major flashbacks haha i didnt get any pictures though because we didnt have time to stop.. we were already running late. But it was awesome! We also did some service with cutting down huge trees and carrying the wood down a huge hill. of course I was the one carrying the biggest ones just becasue im so huge. haha NOT! But it was such a great experience. I stayed warm except for the showering. The showers were FREEZING!!!!!!! Never been so miserable in my life haha. A really cool thing we did was praying in the trees individually for 30 mins. That was an amazing experience for everybody. Except i knelt right beside deer poop. That was kinda distracting thinking about hunting and stuff but i kept control.. hahaha :) Earlier this week I was able to give 2 blessings in one day. That was really cool.. i felt like a big deal :). Our recent convert deborah that just got baptized was struggling so we went over and gave her a blessing and then at dinner with a recent convert named steve who is the most interesting guy ever needed a blessing. he is actually getting evicted from his house.. its sooo sad. I love that guy so much. But he will figure it out. Halloween this year was just another day for us haha. They didnt want us out late because of all the crazy college kids that are here but it was pouring rain at night so it wasnt as crazy as i thought. We had to ride our bikes in it and it was a blast! I love the rain! It was super cold though.. I wore justins coat thing he gave me. That thing is amazing. We had dinner at a members home and that was like the most exciting thing haha but we also made shirts before we went home for camp liahona so i guess that was the most exciting thing. I wanted to go out trick-r-treating and dress up as a missionary but we didnt do it :( ;) haha. How was your guys halloween?? Did you go trick-r-treating?? I bet dad went out. I dont really have much more to add. Maybe a little story.. We forgot about our appointment on Tuesday and we were with the Sisters and we cant drive in their car but we had to get back to our bikes FAST. Soo about 3 blocks away I gave the sisters my backpack and shoes and booked it to the church to get my bike soo fast hahaha they were dying laughing. I was stepping on so much crap like branches and rocks it killed. People were looking at me like i was an idiot. I loved it. But thats basically all that happened this week. I dont really need anything from you guys. Thank you so much for the package again. I love getting those things I feel so cool. I hope everything is going well with you all. I miss you all soooooo much! But I know this is the right thing to do and I'm freakin loving it!! Some questions I have are hows Mac doing with the winter?? Do you think he will make it?? Everything is going well here of course! I'm a missionary.. things are always going well! Glad to hear the family was able to go out hunting again. Too bad there wasnt any success though.. if i was there we wouldve had success.. just sayin :). Elder Rollins called!! yayy!!! i miss that kid! He is soooo great. Nicest kid i have ever met by far. New roommate is elder lenen from idaho. He is such a great guy as well. he has been out for about a year. Elder Blake is from ohio since you forgot.. I cant wait for my package!! i have been waiting for it.. i go out to the mail just waiting for it and it doesnt come :( haha jk but i cant wait! happy halloween! I missed the howl this year.. that was kinda disappointing :). But for halloween this year we can go to a members house and chill or just chill in our appartments. Last year they got to play ball like all day long but we cant this year :( just my luck but its whatev. Oh and i talked to trenton about his video of the call. I actually sent him a memory card that i want him to put the video on. you can put it in a camera or download the video onto it from the computer. whatever works. just send it to me asap after he gets the call. im sooooooooooo excited!! There hasnt been any really new stories to tell for this week. Just workin hard and trying to get new investigators. We actually had a miracle happen. A guy we have been working with hasnt been to church in YEARS. We got him to come on sunday!!! It was awesome!! Something funny that happened this week was we were walking around downtown Davis on Friday night and we got soooo much crap! it was hillarious. people were saying so much stuff to us like nice costumes.. and some homeless guy was like mormons huh?? we said yeah for sure! he said keep walkinggg.. we busted up laughing and then he mocked us. hahaha i felt bad for a second but it was funny. I also got a flat tire on my bike and had to walk like 3 miles to go get it fixed. I have the best luck. I was just laughing because something about being on a mission every little thing in this world makes me laugh :). My knowledge of the gospel increases everyday. I get sooo exhausted by the end of the day but its so worth it. I love the people that i get to teach and meet. We are working with that 90 year old still. it was really cool earlier this week when we taught him. At first he wasnt interested in praying AT ALL. BUT by the end of the lesson we committed him to praying. We have an appointment with him tomorrow so we will see how that goes. Hopefully he has been prayin his old heart out! great guy. We all leave for camp liahona this thursday-saturday. i'm so excited!! not sure how its gonna turn out but im really excited to see what happens. Ill take some pictures and what not. I dont have many pictures for this past week im really sorry :( i kinda forgot to take some. in the next email ill send a couple. one of the pictures is an elder named elder hunt who was standing while bench pressing or whatever. that was a lot of fun. Our district switched up a little bit this past transfer. There are 4 sisters and me and Elder Blake their names are Sister Hernandez, Sister Ika, Sister Briggs, and Sister Uehara. Sister Hernandez gives me soooooo much crap. She says i reminder her of her little brother so she has to give me lots of crap. we have a good time. we went to a baptism yesterday that sister hernandez and sister uehara taught. that was a great experience. It was a young couple that have a little kid thats like 3. sooo exciting to know they are gonna be sealed in a year :). I love going to baptisms!! the spirit is so strong there. no way you can deny it :) Anyway.. i think thats like all i have to say. nothing too special is going on. just working hard and riding my bike all the time. I was so honored to be there speaking because i didnt even have that much to do with getting her baptized i just kept teaching her and being there for her. I love the ward here so much. The people here are amazing. The news for transfers is..... IM STAYING!!!!!!!!!!!! and so is my trainer! It is gonna be a good time. We have some great goals set for this coming transfer. I'm hoping i get to spend Christmas here because the people here are just so awesome. For the package you are thinking about sending me.. you dont need to send pants i dont think. There was an elder in our zone that left that gave me a pair. So you guys can keep those until i rip one or something haha but you guys can do what you want. Elder Rollins (the kid from big bang theory) went home :( his time was up. It sucks seeing people go home that you grow so close to. I love that kid! he is such a great example. I heard grandma and grandpa came over and grandma slept in my bed. I'm guessing you guys cleaned up my room hahaha sorry about that. I hope it wasnt too much of a disaster. I thought i cleaned it up pretty well before i left ;). Whats new with my room? Or the basement? anything?? Is my room turning into an office or anything? Party room? Whats going on? If its the party room nothing changes then because thats what it was before i left. :) I'm sooooooooooooooo stoked for Trenton to get his call its not even funny!!! He told me he submitted his papers and i got chills! I'm sooooooooooo excited!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHH!!! What a baller I love that kid. hes my brother from another mother named Teri. I'm glad to hear the Cole and Jordy are enjoying their missions. It was soo fun seeing Cole at the MTC because he was complaining about the spanish a little bit and making jokes about how easy english would be haha. but i hope he started picking it up. he is such a great kid. Jordy is so lucky to be in africa.. thats super sick! :) Love those kids Mom i love how you brought up being an airhead.. i love it hahaha. Some stuff i do makes me think you would probably do that so i cant make fun of you anymore :). You are the greatest. I heard about the hunts.. Sad i had to miss them but glad to hear they went well. I'm sure everybody missed seeing me miss my shots at my big game. Sure everybody got a kick out of it because i was so bad :). Hope you guys were able to strengthen the family during the hunts. We are too sick. :) Some stories for this week... We had dinner at the ward missionary leaders house this past week and that was a good time. We had papusas or whatever they are called. His wife is from Elsalvador. I'm sure jon has had them before. but they bought us the "worlds hottest hot sauce" supposedly from india and it was soooooooooooo hot! me elder blake their son and 2 sisters did it and i was freakin out!! I'm such a pansy haha. Elder blake and their 12 year old son were the only ones not freakin out. They were fakin it ;). Now a reallyyyyyyy funny story. We went out to dinner with members and i didnt finish my meal so i got it to go and me and Elder Blake were walking around downtown when i ran into a homeless lady. She asked me if i had extra food. Well in my head i was thinking i need this for tomorrow its sooooooo good! So i was like uhhhh yeah but its my lunch for tomorrow. I started panicking and she was like oh then keep it but instead i opened it and grabbed a handful of fries and said "take some fries" hahahahaha and she kept saying now but i kept trying to force her a handful of fries. Elder Blake said it was the most awkward thing ever! She didnt take them because my fingers touched them. I just kept sayin "take the fries" I was sooooooo stupid!! We were laughing soooo hard once it was all said and done. Man.. super funny story. If you didnt laugh its better to tell in person :). Anyway.. nothing new going here. Were trying to find some people. We are teaching the 90 year old guy. We taught him yesterday and at the beginning he wasnt interested in praying at all.. but by the end he committed to it! So we will see what happens.. anyway... i dont really have much more to say really! All i wanna say is how much i love all of you soooooooooooooo much!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MOM HAPPY FREAKIN BIRTHDAY!!!! Family and friends what is up!! Everything is going well. Mom.. I'm doing great! I'm eating just fine! Don't worry about me hun. I'm doing awesome haha. I sometimes take your vitamins.. I'll be better I promise.. haha. I forgot to tell you guys but uh... I GOT TO GO TO THE SACRAMENTO TEMPLE ON THURSDAY! That was soo sweet! Its such a small temple. The grounds are way cool though.. I saw some blacktail deer and those things are sooo ugly! I'm so glad i hunt mule deer. I'm one blessed soldier :). I'm so glad the hunting went well. I have been thinking about it a lot lately.. but im doing just fine. Its kinda weird that the hunt is already here. I feel like i just dominated the hunting season a month ago. Time is flying.. ;). Time is actually going by kinda fast. Sometimes days feel like weeks but weeks feel like days. Transfers are this coming week. Does my trainer stay.. or does he bounce?? We will have to see! Pretty sure im staying though. I hope i do just because i love this area. The families i have met here are awesome. There is a family i met yesterday (our ward mish leader) Their family is sooo fun. but not as fun as mine obviously :). The baptism got postponed once again.. the scheduling is getting ridiculous haha. The baptism is on wed though for sure. I have to speak on baptism. I pretty freakin excited she is sooo excited! Its gonna be a great experience i cant wait. I gave one of the sisters a blessing the other day. That was such a cool experience blessing a sister. I think it was the most spiritual experience so far. Yeah it was trentons birthday yesterday.. sad i missed it. I hope it was great. Love that kid. Mom your birthday is coming up too!! Party hard!! I'm glad to hear your mouth is doing better. You're not getting old dont worry. You are just getting younger :). I dont know what i just said but i like it! I cant believe bryson got his papers in that fast. I love that kid! I miss all of them a lot but its sooo cool how these young fellas are starting to get their calls and get their papers in. I'm so excited for all of them. Excited to see who is coming to santa rosa with me! :) Hopefully its my best friend trempin. There is a member here that updates me on the college football games. I heard about byu.. thats rough BUT they will beat notre dame haha uhh wait nvm probably not. But ill pray for them ;). Its good that Utah is losing though! I just said that. Sorry Utah fans. (Neilsons) ;) Ok soooo for my package. I would actually like for you to send my old church pants. I'm trying my hardest not to spend extra money so if i rip my pants i dont want to buy new ones. I don't really know what else you can send me.. my life is pretty simple. The weather here is getting a little cooler. Its sooo unpredictable. Its been way cold and way hot. Idk what to expect sometimes. I don't need any clothes for the camp. I'll borrow some from members. I'll think about what i want for Christmas don't worry it will be a BIG list.. haha :). Hello!!!!!! I love Mondays so i can email home and let everybody know how awesome I'm diong haha. But really I'm loving it here. Unfortunately this week hasnt been super interesting :(. It's starting to get a little colder finally. Gosh it sucks riding a bike all day long in the heat. Boo! Nothing new has happened this week like at all.. Nobody new or anything :(. BUT we do have a baptism coming up this saturday!! her name is D :). She is such an amazing woman! She has the strongest testimony of this gospel before baptism that i have ever seen. She is amazing! The other people we are just trying to work with and get new people. We are going out hard later today and try to contact as many people as we can i'm really excited. On the first of november were having an all mission conference camp out haha. Who has ever heard of that!? I think its super crazy! Were going to camp liahona to do a bunch of service and devotionals for 2 nights. We have to find a ride there from a member and a ride home. Its 3 hours away.. Its gonna be hard finding a ride. BUT i'm way excited. Don't know what to expect exactly. We also have to borrow sleeping bags from members and bring nothing but service clothes. It will be super interesting. Yeahhh.. this month is a hard one haha. Knowing that i should be out hunting this month kinda sucks. But im here doing the Lords work and hunting will be there when i get back. Well.. hopefully! I'm so happy that brayton and dad got to go. Im excited to hear if they end up getting anything. General conference was awesome! This was like the first time i ever paid attention haha. I'm so excited that 18 year olds can now go out. I wish that would have been for me so then i coulda bounced right after high school. That would have been so nice. I'm way excited to see them get out here though. I think its a genius idea because a lot of people go in limbo after high school and just dont now what to do. Get them out here! This work needs to be hastened! :) Congratualtions to josh! Tell branson happy birthday for me and I miss him. I dont know if you know this but me and Jaren are emailing back and forth. Its really great. Crazy he has been out for a year! Hes a great example to me. I have a member here that keeps me updated on the college football games haha i love it. I heard utah lost to usc and byu beat ut st. Man.. byu beats usu utah beats byu and usu beats utah. Who is the best team in utah? NOBODY KNOWS! haha i say rematch with byu and utah.. just sayin :) I'll let you know how the baptism goes this week. I'm so freakin excited its not even funny. My first one! Hello!!!! I first wanna tell you how great today has been. Woke up and went and played some soccer. I can't tell you how amazing that was to get out and go play again. i miss it so much. I loved it. Can't wait to get home and playing it again. Anyway after that I went home and I had a package from my favorite family! Thank you so much for the pictures and snacks! I LOVE IT! Yes there are a couple other pictures I would like.. There were some pictures with me tagged in them right before I left I would like. And the one with me jordan zack nate and thomas was super blurry haha. I know there is a better one out there that I would like. If you don't want to send them thats totally fine haha I understand. Earlier this week we did a blitz for a different area. Thats where a bunch of missionaries go in and try to get some work done. During that blitz i placed my first book of mormon! i was pretty excited. But.. about those baptisms. They didnt happend because the 18 year old got kicked out of the house because there was so much contention. So he is living with a widow who has the most caring heart ever. I love her. Anyway so the 2 baptisms are post-poned and will be happening separetly (idk how to spell) We dont have dates for those yet. but we do have a SOLID baptismal date for the 11th. I'm so stoked! And a family that comes and goes actually called us and we met up. They want to make a 6 week plan for them to be ready to be baptized. Thats super exciting. A lot of pressure is on me though because they love elder blake and he is probably leaving after this transfer. They have separation anxiety basically so i have to become really close with them super fast to keep them around. I can do it though. I'm sick like that ;). Something really cool that happened this week is we didnt know what to do about the postponed baptism, so i gave elder blake a blessing to help us both figure out what to do. We think we came up with the right choice. Nothing else is happening really. Just keep meeting people and talking to them. No new investigators yet. Were trying to focus on the ones that are soo close or falling away. Some of the recent converts I have met are the nicest strongest peole ever. They are such an amazing example. This guy i shall name "S" (like what jaren does) has very very little and yet he is the happiest old dude. I love him! he is going so strong. About to get the priesthood soon and just can't wait. I love the people i'm around. Something really funny that happened the other day was we were on exchanges and I was with Elder R who reminds me of people on big bang theory. We were riding our bikes and i was ahead of him on a trail. He comes flying up to me and in the most worried concerned voice he yells "elder howell elder howell I think i just ran over a squirrel!" hahaha and he explained this thing shot out of bush went under his tire and hit his ankle. He turned around and this squirrel was limping away hahaha he felt so bad. I love this kid. (he goes home on the 22 :( ) Glad to hear that BYU dominated. I heard there defense is like 9th in the nation or something. That's way sweet. I talk to the members sometimes about it and my companion just looks at me like yup you're a greenie haha i love it. Yes things are getting more and more familiar. I probably will be here another transfer which will be good so i can get to know the people and area more. I love it here. Even though its not that beautiful I love the people! Groceries are coming good! I'm learning how to shop kinda.. I just go for cheap microwavable stuff haha. Hopefully i dont get fat! We get like $130 a month. I hope that keeps me from spending my home money so i can go to Utah St. when I get home! :)Mom/Family thank you so much for getting the pictures and snacks together. I look forward to mondays sooo much!! Haha everybody tells me im such a greenie. I love it! :) Yes please please please get me those pictures haha I'm dying! :) I want to see people back at home so badly. I miss you all so much but this is the right thing to do and im enjoying it so much. Earlier this week an asian called us and asked for a blessing. On our way there I was like I better not have to do it because I never have before. Well she wanted me to do it. That was my first time! It was way cool. She wanted the blessing because her head had been hurting her extremely bad. She is doing well now. We have a couple investigators that are gonna get baptized soon. 2 are smokers and can't stop. They are struggling. They are set for baptism this weekend. Not only is smoking a problem but they are having MAJOR family difficulties. The son is 18 and the mom is idk how old haha but yeah its definitely a struggle. They were found before I got here. Were just getting the finishing touches.an older lady that is getting baptized in a couple weeks who is so strong. Elder Blake (my companion) said she was definitely a miracle. Way too easy haha. Other than that we don't have other progressing investigators really. Some recent converts are interesting. This guy steve will talk for hours upon hours about his music. He is so weird. You literally have to tell him to focus on what were talking about or he doesnt listen. He just rambles on haha great guy though. There are soo many great people here in Davis. I love it here. We basically get fed every single night. Its so weird going to church though because at home the classes were huge. They are so small here!! haha Still getting used to everything. Back to the 18 year old. We had an emergency appointment last night because he ran away from home because their family problems. Supposedly he was beat as a kid and wants to change his life around really badly.. but he doesnt put forth the effort really. We don't know what to do for him really. Its a struggle.. hopefully everything turns out great! You will find out next week! :) A bunch of my friends emailed me this week that was way nice of them. I couldnt really email back though one because i'm not supposed to and two i dont relaly have time haha. I have the greatest friends ever!!! I love the support I get!! Mom hopefully your surgery ends up feeling better! Dad.. you are not going to Missouri without me. BUT we are going when I get home! :) Brayton. Ohh my gosh I heard about the BYU game sunday morning.. I was thinking about it all Saturday. I couldn't wait to here. Once I heard I was done for.. Just wanted to crawl in a whole haha. But life goes on! Sick new bishopric. They will get work done. They are all great peeps. I'm excited to here that everything is going well back at home! If anything happens please let me know.. there is a Sister here that is struggling because her family hid something from her for a long time. Don't do that to me! :) The missionary work is so much fun. I'm having a blast with my trainer he is way fun. He likes to get the work done but he is also way chill. I have been meeting everybody in the ward and we get fed EVERY night. It's pretty awesome. Lots of ghetto places and people here. It makes me more and more grateful for what I have back at home. It's so nuts. I cant imagine being in a foreign place. We have an 18 year old kid and his mom that are trying to get baptized from before I got here. They just have to stop smoking. I'm so glad I wasn't raised like that and had this gospel in my life in the beginning. We also have just been teaching a couple other lessons here and there nothing too special. The worst thing about missionary work is riding my bike in the heat all day and waking up at 630. It's so tiring!!! I'm gonna get mono again watch.. haha. I'm having so much fun its just hard sometimes. I'm with a great trainer and these 2 spanish speaking elders are in our apartment too. I have the 3 funniest elders in the mission living with me I am told. I'm very lucky :). One of them is from Ohio and the other is from Missouri. Ohio elder is such a nerd. But the happiest bubbliest kid ever. He is sooo funny! I love him! He seems liek hed be on the Big Bang Theory or something. haha and the other Missouri elder is way chill. He played baseball back at home and is just a hard working super funny guy. Now here is something very important. DAD This elder owns 48 acres of property in missouri and he hunts ducks quails and pheasants and says we can go!! If you turn down this offer so help me I will be very angry.. He has been out a year this thursday. We HAVE to go!! Me and my companion ride our bikes everywhere we go. I get sooo tired! But he seems to go hard because he is so used to it. I wish we had a car.. but oh well. The spanish speaking elders drive us places sometimes so that's nice. A funny experience that happend earlier this week was random was we were riding our bikes and some super old guy drives by on his bike and we say "hey how are you!?" all he says is "Romney sucks" we just busted up laughing. He's there!!

Heyyyy!! I arrived here in Santa Rosa safely don't worry :). The flight was way too fast haha I didn't want to land. I love plane flights! The kid next to me asked for a bag in case he threw up.. luckily he didn't or else he probably could have gotten some all over me. My trainer is awesome! He actually trained Dax Johnson! The kid I know from school that is here. His name is Elder Blake and he is from Ohio. Great guy. He goes home in January. I feel like I'm going to learn a lot from him. Go to I believe santarosamission.blogspot.com.. I'm not exactly sure. I'm sure you can find it somehow. They will have a bunch of pictures on there! Did you get my pictures from the MTC?!! You havent answered that question yet haha. My Pday is on Mondays, so thats when you can expect an email. With the whole bike situation I was actually lucky to get a free one. There is an elder that was too tall for it or something so he gave it up and is using somebody elses. So I get to use the one he used. They say it's a nice bike. I just had to buy a lock, helmet, and a tube for the tire because that was ruined. I was also able to contact the bank, but they said that the card might get denied sometimes. I don't know why he was super confusing haha, but I'm sure its fine. I actually have not been to the apartment yet. We drove around for hours dropping off all the other companionships. The only thing I got to do today was go eat with a temple sealer and his wife. They are sooo sweet! The people here are so nice. I got to meet some of the ward members too. Tomorrow morning all the work begins. I am going to be serving in the Davis 1st Ward. Were outside West Sacramento. 2 of the elders that i roomed with in the MTC are going to be in my zone! Its so cool! I didn't want to leave them. Sadly I had to leave my companion.. he is more North I believe. I love the mission president and his wife. They are sooo nice. I was homesick for a little like when i first got here, but after getting to know my companion and eat with the members and meet them I love it right now! I also was able to receive the package you sent me. Thank you so much! I'll have to try posting pictures of this awesome place next week hopefully. They say it's probably the least beautiful place in the mission, but the people here are awesome already! I don't really have much more to say except..... GO COUGARS!!!! Beat Utah!! I can't believe I leave on Tuesday!! I'm so stoked but im not sure if im ready. I really have learned so much here its awesome. Some of the funniest and funnest experiences of my life have been here. As much as i love it here, it sucks at the same time haha. It's so repetitive. It's a great learning experience though. Trenton you're my hero keep up the good work. My parents cant do it all i guess ;). Thank you for shipping my stuff to the mission home. Can't wait to get there. Actually.. I can't wait to get to the airport and call home! I'm so looking forward to that it's not even funny. GO AGGIES!!!! I read that and started celebrating giving high fives to everybody around me! That's soooo sick! I probably will be able to hear the BYU game tonight.. Bleh.. It's okay though. Hopefully they destroy like they did last week. I really want updates though of the games. I love hearing about them. I miss them so much, but I'm in the best place possible right now. I saw Cole Morgan the day he got here. I saw him in the cafeteria and walked over to him to give him a big hug. I was so glad to see him! He is gonna be an amazing missionary. We talked a little bit and he said the curb was terrible haha it really is though.. Glad I don't have to do that again. I also saw him yesterday and he is doing pretty good. Just being a beginner just like everybody else has done. His companion is struggling though.. hopefully things get better. Nate villegas leaves 3 weeks after me haha. I got here after him and leave before him :) he's upset about that. I literally see him everyday! I don't know if i'll go play soccer today because my whole district plays basketball.. it's such a good time. I'll play once I get out into the field. So about my week... I have one very good story. So my district is a bunch of goofs.. We like to have a good time a little too much. Anyway.. we had to teacher our teacher/investigator and he knew we were not taking it seriously. When the first companionship went down to teach him the teacher sent them back. We were all confused. The companionship stood up in front of the class and said Bro Reeves (teacher) is not happy with us and doesnt want to come up. So... we fixed all our problems and decided we need to change. Well.. that night we had a district teaching with Bro Reeves in mirror/window room. Each companionship takes 10 mins to teach and then the next companionship goes. WE NAILED THE LESSON!! The spirit was so strong. At the end Bro Reeves comes out with tears in his eyes and said "This is a new district than 2 hours ago." It was such an amazing experience. Since then everybody has been working hard. I still personally struggle teaching haha everybody is so smart! It's okay.. things will get better. Our district is so fun though. At night we made bows and arrows out of hangers and launch them at each other, tell stories about girls haha, make fun of each other, oh and last night i tried buying a hot pocket and it got stuck! So i tried buying another one and the first one came down but the second got stuck! So i took a hanger and tried shoving it down into the vending machine to push it down and i look over and there is a camera. I was out of there so fast hahaha everybody was in there watching me. We were laughing way hard. I finally got it though because this kid in my zone bought a hot pocket by it and it pushed mine off. Great kid :). We also made a launcher out of this rubber band thing and launched apples! That was pretty sweet watching them splatter haha. We have so much fun here. It's gonna be hard leaving them behind at the airport.. we have become close. I had in-field orientation yesterday. That is for all the missionaries that leave the next week. That was sooooo boring. It was basically 13 hours of just listening to people talk. BUT on the bright side we had 2 hour lunch and dinner so i was able to squeeze in 2 naps. I miss naps so much... haha. The devotionals here are really good. We have had 2 people from the quorum of the 70 speak.. I don't remember their names, but they were really good. The spirit here is just so strong its amazing. I don't really have much to say.. it's kinda same old same old. Big thanks to my grandparents for their letters and emails, my brothers and their letters, my dad and his email, Jon and Trenton Neilson for their letters, Macee for her letter, my mom and her DAILY dear elders I love those so much! I always feel special getting mail. Marlies Robinson and Kayla Criddle also wrote me! I also am getting to email Ryan Head, Zac Farnworth, Jordan Tuckfield, and Trevor Osborne. I email them because theres no way I'm sending out a letter. That will take FOREVER! Thank you everybody for those it really means so much to me! I LOVE hearing from all of you! Ok so hello everybody. Everything is going great here. I’m still struggling here teaching haha but I'm learning so much and I love it. I’m kind of sick of the repetition though, so I'm excited to get out of here. I hope everything starts clicking as soon as I get out there haha. I got my travel plans and I'm getting out of here on September 11th and my flight leaves at 8:46am. I'll be flying Delta Air Lines. It was such an amazing feeling getting that bad boy. I'm almost there. So about my district. I love these guys. I have had so much fun here with them. It’s going to be hard leaving them behind. There are 12 of us and 4 of us are going to Santa Rosa the rest to Roseville. My companion is way chill but he doesn't like soccer so I have to stay in the gym and play basketball which is still way fun. I own all day long :) My companions name is Nick Miller and he is from Pennsylvania. I have become really close with this other elder in our district that is going to Roseville, California. We're like the exact same person. Both not super intelligent and laugh a lot. Not going to lie.. I laugh at inappropriate times sometimes but it’s so hard when something is funny. Everybody makes fun of my laugh and we just have a good time. I’m going to tell you about the people in my district. Elder Ashby-My really good friend. He's from Pocatello, Idaho and super chill. He's going to be playing some college ball when he gets home. That's pretty tight. Elder Soloman-He's such a goof. Funniest kid I have ever met though. I love him. He has like ADHD or something and can't focus, makes me laugh so hard. Elder Miller-My companion. He likes metal music and farms in Pennsylvania. Doesn't like any sports really except four square. :/ Elder Murray-Super chill guy from Syracuse, Utah. Played football in high school and is getting a super strong testimony so fast. Elder Young-From Hoodriver, Oregon. He is just like me and Ashby. We get along very well. Went to Westminster for a year. Elder Ballard-He is a giant. Very scary guy when he's angry and builds engines for planes. Great guy though. Elder Lundell-Short chubby kid. Super funny and way nice. He played high school football somewhere around here I don't remember where. Elder Balaiche-Going to Santa Rosa. Super chill guy. Went to BYU and is a spiritual giant. Elder Kruckeberg-He is going to Santa Rosa too. Loves cars and is way chill. Elder Edwards-Lavell Edwards nephew. He is definitely a spiritual giant. Very quiet but super nice kid. Great example. Elder Heinke-Just know he hates sports. Very strict. Not fun. Me, Kruckeberg, Balaich, Miller, Murray, and Edwards room together. We know how to have a good time. A spiritual experience I would like to share happened on Monday in TRC. We practice teaching real investigators. Me and my companion nailed it once. We felt the spirit sooo strongly and she started crying. We felt so awesome getting her to cry.. :) We talked about her daughter and how she is mentally handicapped and we told her she will be perfect in heaven with a resurrected body. She is an amazing woman. We have basically 10 hours or something of class a day. It's a killer.. But I’m enjoying strengthening my testimony and meeting so many people. I see Carson Broadhead quite a bit. Saw Isaac Yates twice.. he wrote me a letter for my first day getting here. I love that kid. I've seen Dallin Van Mondfrans only a couple times. I see Nate Villegas I swear daily. I have seen Dylan Reynolds only a couple times too. I love running into people I know.. It makes me feel so much better. One super funny story I'm going to share real quick. Yesterday 8 of us were in the elevator and Elder Young had the genius idea to jump and we broke the elevator hahaha. We got stuck in there for 45 minutes and missed our TRC. Everybody was wondering where we were at. It was soooo funny. It was 90 degrees in there, we were dying of heat. Shhhh they don't know we jumped ;) I love you all so much! I hope I answer lots of questions and gave you an idea what's going on here. Wow... My first day was alright. Everybody here is way nice but it's hard thinking I have 2 years till I come home. It seems so long. Last night I got way home sick and legit just wanted to be home in my bed. I know I'm doing the right thing though. Tomorrow I have to teach an "investigator." Seriously? I don't know anything or how yet. I'm way nervous. My companion is pretty cool. He doesn't like sports but he's chill and pretty funny. He's from Pennsylvania so he has an accent. My district is pretty cool. I'm really jealous of this one companionship because they are into sports and stuff just like me. It's fine though. I also saw Carson today for a minute and I saw Dallin yesterday but I couldn't get to him. Today has been a lot better than yesterday though for sure. Once I hit Sunday I'm going to dominate. I got to sit with Prodigy at dinner tonight. I love that kid. He is helping me a lot. Seeing people I know helps so much. I just got your Dear Elder. Thank you so much. Please keep the letters coming, I know I made fun of other missionaries, but it helps a lot. It gives me something to look forward to. I know there are thousands here, but I kind of feel alone. Like I said I'm getting used to it, but it's so hard. My district is pretty cool. What's hard for me is having teachers here that I know come here to teach then go HOME. I'm stuck here in a way. I'm here to do the Lord's work. I'm just going to keep fighting. LOVE YOU ALL AND MISS YOU SO MUCH! P.S. I need email addresses!! My P-Day is Sat, Fri, then Sat. We dropped Elder Howell off at the MTC at 1 o'clock today. He was very nervous but excited to start his calling as a Missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
